Can I embed dashboards in my own website or application?
Yes, most BI tools support embedding, usually through iframes or an SDK, but the options, security model and licensing vary widely. Public embedding is simple but exposes data to anyone with the link, while secure embedding passes signed tokens that restrict what each viewer sees.
Questions to check:
- Is embedding included in the plan, or does it need a premium tier or capacity licence?
- Can you filter data per customer, using row-level security or signed parameters?
- Can you style it to match your brand?
- How are viewers charged?
Never embed a public link for sensitive data. If you are showing clients their own data, test thoroughly that one client cannot see another's by changing parameters or URLs.
