What are the signs that my company has outgrown spreadsheets?
Warning signs include reports that take days to compile, several versions of the same file, formulas only one person understands, numbers that differ between departments, files that crash or run slowly, and decisions delayed because nobody trusts the figures. When these appear, spreadsheets are creating risk and wasted time.
Spreadsheets remain excellent for modelling and quick analysis. The trouble starts when they become the system of record.

- No history of who changed what
- Fear of editing a critical file
- Data entry errors that are found late
